Galena, Illinois Wine Lover’s Weekend March 26-28, 2010
Galena Wine Lovers’ Weekend is a city-wide celebration of good wine, good food and good friends. Wine lovers of all sorts are invited to enjoy fine wine, culinary delight, celebrity chefs, pampering packages and all of the stops Galena can possibly pull out.
Wine Lovers’ Weekend is a spirited way to warm the winter and add romance—whether it be for vino, gourmet cuisine or the love for a town with history and charm all its own. Wine-inspired dinners, spirit tastings, spa experiences, history tours, cooking demonstrations and shopping welcome and enchant visitors.
Kicking off the weekend is the Grand Tasting and Wine Auction—which has grown to be the one of the largest indoor wine tasting event in the state of Illinois. This year at the Grand Tasting, sample from 300 varieties of hand-picked wines and spirits. Cost is $30 in advance (online) or $35 at the door (while supplies last).

Alan and Heidi came to our Galena, Illinois Bed and Brekfast as first time Bed and Breakfast guests on April 18, 2009. While here they became engaged. They were our 57th engagement and were added to our special photo album on our mantel. To our wonderful surprise, shortly after leaving Alan called and asked if we would host their wedding. We were elated and honored. The plans were under way for their special day on August, 29, 2009. It was a beautiful day for this very special couple. They had the wedding they both wanted with a small reception of family and friends on our grounds.

The Cloran Mansion was proud to host our 74th wedding this past fall. Karl and Staci Chabowski exchanged vows on September 6, 2009 in our beautiful garden, surrounded by friends and family. We were so happy to be a part of their new beginnings and wish them nothing but the best in the future.

On July 31 we had the honor of hosting our first Commitment Ceremony. Carol Teagle and Susan Dexter were recommitted on their 10 year Anniversary. They spent much time planning this very special day. The ceremony was very personal and one of the most beautiful ceremonies we have seen. They have been guests of the Cloran Mansion from our first year. They are true friends and loved as family. We wish them many more years of love and happiness.
